A painting I would like to have in my home is the Persistence of Memory by Salvador de Lee. It’s an artwork that features mountain clocks wrapped over various objects in a barren landscape. The painting is fascinating because it challenges the idea of time and reality and every time I look at it I notice something new. I first learned about this painting when I was browsing a book on famous artworks in a library. I was drawn to its unique and significant imagery so I did some research about Salvador de Lee and their surrealist movement. Since then I have been intrigued by his creativity vision and style. The original painting is housed in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and is of course priceless. However, I could purchase a good reproduction of print for around $100 or more depending on size and framing. I want to have this painting in my home because it taught a pre-booking and adds a mystery to the space. It’s the kind of artwork that sparks interesting conversations with guests and it reminds me to think beyond conventional ideas and embrace creativity. Having it on my wall would also serve as a daily inspiration for exploring the boundaries of imagination.
