In this contemporary age, the responsibility for obesity and unhealthy youngsters, which is increasing continuously, is considered to lie with governments by many people. While I believe that governments should play a role, I think the impact of family members is a more dominant factor in preventing childhood obesity. On the one hand, many individuals believe that the government should take the lead in addressing this issue. Administrators have a significant responsibility to help people with problematic issues in this area. They can leverage telecommunication and advertising agencies to tackle the problem. Instead of promoting unhealthy food and drinks, government forces should advertise healthy and nutritional meals and beverages more prominently. This would encourage young people to start paying attention to these products. Additionally, expanding the construction of playgrounds and stadiums, especially near residential areas, would help to prevent adults from becoming sedentary. Furthermore, international summits and events should be held two or three times a year to address this issue. For example, the International Youth Summit was held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, in 2019. This event provided a platform for professors and students to debate the problem of childhood obesity. On the other hand, the role of family members in reducing childhood obesity should be considered much more significant. No matter how hard the government tries to prevent obesity, if parents do not care about this issue, children are more likely to become obese. Families need to pay attention to forming healthy diet habits and encouraging self-control in their children while eating or drinking. In conclusion, while governments have a role to play, the primary responsibility for preventing childhood obesity lies with families.
