Well, this really depends on the country you are talking about. In Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia especially, along with other countries that have strict beliefs about culture and religion, the extended family is common. This includes grandparents, parents, and children living together in harmony. Sometimes the children help the parents and grandparents with housework, and grandparents can help the parents take care of their grandchildren. However, in other countries, such as modern-day Western countries like America, there is a belief in the nuclear family, where only two generations live together, not three like in Asia. This means only the parents and the children live together. When the children come of age, they move out, get married, and often live independently.
