After many profound researches on the topic, I've come to the conclusion that media plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion in general, not only in relation to scientific issues. Moreover, everyday users prefer reaching out to other users when seeking information about certain issues, as they show distrust towards paid media. In their opinion, users online tend to be more honest because they are not being paid. However, this is an easy way of spreading misinformation and creating a wrong impression of issues that are vital and important without solid proof. People tend to believe other people's words that stem from experience. However, none of those words are proven with scientific facts or backed up by a doctor or a professional, which makes the information on its own a little bit compromised. Once negative feelings or any type of feelings are installed, they can prevent the user from reading and actually educating themselves, either from the internet or by visiting a specialist, which could play a fundamental role in understanding these issues.
