One countryside place I truly enjoy visiting was Shechi, a charming and historic town which is located in the north-western part of Azerbaijan. It’s surrounded by Caucasus mountains and is well known its stunning nature and rich cultural heritage. I visited Shechi a year ago, mainly in early spring. Together with my family, we wanted to spend a few quiet times away from Baku and we had always been heard that Shechi was a great destination to real historic lovers. Nature and Suests. During our trip, we explored a lot of different places like Shechihan Palace, which is a gorgeous 18th century building decorated with colorful stained glass windows and detailed artwork. The architecture was absolutely breathtaking. We also visited two Chernobyl Saray, which is an ancient inn that was used by Silk Road traders centuries ago. Aside from historical sites, we really enjoyed the natural beauty of the area. The air is so fresh and clean. There were green hills and the forest everywhere. We took short walks nearby the countryside and we tasted a local dish called piti, which is a traditional soup cooked in the clay pots. It was so delicious. I took great pleasure in traveling to Shechi mainly because it combines peaceful nature, deep history and warm hospitality. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxed. I really felt that. I really felt a real Azerbaijani tradition.
