The news was that my father was coming to Pakistan to celebrate my birthday with me. To give you some background, my mother came to my apartment and after greeting me, she informed me that my father would be arriving the following week to attend my birthday party. He was also going to give me a surprise gift as an apology for missing my last birthday. I was so excited! I asked my mother what the surprise gift was, but she just said it was a surprise and I'd be shocked when I found out. When my father arrived, he also told me about the gift he had planned for my birthday. On the day of my birthday party, as the party was winding down and it was time for gifts, my father came over and gave me a present.
