Band 5+: tell me about yourself

Your pronunciation is average. It is understandable but not always accurate. Focusing on the rhythm and stress patterns of English could prove beneficial.

The answer is on topic and provides basic personal information, but it is very brief and does not elaborate. To improve, consider adding details about your background, such as your studies, work, hobbies, or what you do in your free time. This would make the response more natural and engaging, as expected in a speaking test. The response could be expanded as it currently feels quite brief.

The answer is coherent and directly addresses the question, but it is very brief and lacks development. There is no attempt to expand on the information (e.g., hobbies, work, or studies), which limits the demonstration of fluency. To improve, add a few more sentences to provide a fuller introduction, and use simple linking words like 'and' or 'also' to connect ideas.

The vocabulary used is basic and appropriate for the context, but it is not varied or precise. Words like 'call' and 'from' are simple. To achieve a higher score, incorporate a wider range of vocabulary, such as 'originally from', 'go by', or 'reside in', and add descriptive details about yourself (e.g., 'I'm a student majoring in...' or 'I enjoy...'). Boost vocabulary complexity to elevate the overall score.

The grammar is accurate with correct use of the present simple tense and the structure 'you can call me'. There are no errors, but the range is limited to simple sentences. To improve, use a mix of sentence structures, such as a compound sentence (e.g., 'I'm from Bandoosa, which is a city in...') or include a relative clause to show more grammatical flexibility.
