One of the main reasons why people visit cities on their holidays is to see the special events during these times. Much of the time, when there is a special national or world holiday, there will definitely be some festivals, gatherings, and maybe even more specific and impressive events. As a town dweller, as a person who has lived most of my life in a small town, the first thing I do when I visit such places during these periods is walk around, see what's going on, and if there is something special, I definitely join in without any hesitation. At some point, there is no sense in being shy when you are visiting the city on a holiday because everyone is there to enjoy the festivities.
