The most popular children's books in my country are comics, especially the Japanese ones. It's mainly because they have plenty of pictures rather than words, and children find them visually appealing. The benefits of parents reading books to their children are enormous. Firstly, it helps develop a reading culture from a very young age. Secondly, children will be ahead of their peers in academic levels and understanding. Lastly, they will gain a wealth of knowledge about a variety of topics well ahead of their age. I believe parents who let their children choose the books do so primarily because it makes them independent and teaches them how to make choices and decisions in their lives. It's one of the first steps that children take towards adulthood. Thank you.
