Band 5+: What is a small thing that makes you happy every day?

Your pronunciation is quite good. Working on consistency and tackling difficult sounds may enhance clarity.

The answer stays on topic and directly addresses the question by mentioning a small thing (bright sun) that brings happiness. However, the response is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. To improve, provide a more specific example and elaborate on why it makes you happy, perhaps by describing a personal routine or a particular moment. This would make the answer more natural and engaging.

The answer is understandable but lacks clear organization. The response starts with a general statement but does not directly answer the question with a specific 'small thing' until the example of the sun. There is some repetition ('makes me happy' used twice) and the connection between ideas could be smoother. To improve, structure the answer with a clear topic sentence, a specific example, and a brief explanation. Use cohesive devices like 'for instance' or 'in particular' to link ideas more effectively.

The vocabulary is basic but appropriate for the topic. Words like 'bright' and 'happy' are simple and repeated. There is limited range and flexibility. To improve, incorporate more varied and precise vocabulary, such as 'sunshine', 'radiant', 'cheerful', 'uplifting', or 'a sense of joy'. Avoid overusing the word 'happy' by using synonyms or paraphrasing. Boost vocabulary complexity to elevate the overall score.

The grammar is mostly accurate but simple. There are minor errors: 'if a sun is bright' should be 'if the sun is bright' (article usage), and 'it make me happy' should be 'it makes me happy' (subject-verb agreement). The sentence structures are basic and repetitive. To improve, use a wider range of structures, such as conditional sentences, relative clauses, or varied sentence openers. Practice using articles and ensuring subject-verb agreement consistently.
