I come from a third world country called Zimbabwe, and in my country, there are two main reasons that give status to people. One is wealth, and the second one is power. Wealthy people in my country are revered a lot. They are given many benefits by the government and by society as well, which allows them to have more influence over people. The second one that I mentioned was power. People in political sectors, economic sectors, and even religious sectors are seen as gods because of the influence they have on people. They can open a door for an ordinary person, and their lives can change. Such people are revered. They are highly respected and adored by society, and hence they are given status in the country. Some tend to abuse it, but some use it for good.
