Band 6+: What kinds of movies are popular in your country?

Your pronunciation is above average. However, you may find complexity in certain words challenging. Regular practice should aid in improvement.

The response directly addresses the question by identifying Indian movies as the most popular and provides reasons related to genre diversity and cultural similarities. The answer is natural and includes elaboration, which is a strength. To achieve a higher score, consider adding specific examples of popular Indian movies or actors, or discussing the popularity of other film industries to provide a more comprehensive view. Additionally, structuring the response with clearer transitions could enhance coherence.

The answer is generally coherent and addresses the question directly, but there are some issues with fluency. The speaker uses appropriate cohesive devices like 'because' and 'and also', but the response lacks smooth flow due to grammatical errors and slight repetition ('we have similar values, we have similar traditionals'). To improve, practice speaking more smoothly with fewer self-corrections and ensure ideas are linked more naturally. Expanding the answer with specific examples or reasons could also enhance coherence.

The vocabulary used is adequate to convey the message, with terms like 'genres', 'fiction', 'romance', 'fantasy', 'actions', 'values', 'traditionals', and 'upbringing'. However, there are inaccuracies: 'traditionals' should be 'traditions', and 'actions' should be 'action' (uncountable in this context). The range is limited, and some words are used repetitively ('similar'). To improve, expand vocabulary with more precise and varied words, and ensure correct word forms and collocations. For example, instead of 'consist a lot of genres', use 'encompass a variety of genres'.

There are several grammatical errors that affect clarity. Subject-verb agreement is incorrect: 'movie' should be 'movies' and 'they consist' should be 'they consist of'. The phrase 'consist a lot of genres' is missing 'of'. 'Traditionals' is not a correct noun; it should be 'traditions'. The sentence structure is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. To improve, focus on basic grammar accuracy, such as subject-verb agreement and correct preposition use. Practice using a wider range of sentence structures, including complex sentences, to demonstrate grammatical range.
