Band 8+: what was your favorite food when you was a child?

Your pronunciation is quite good. Working on consistency and tackling difficult sounds may enhance clarity.

The answer is directly on topic and provides a clear response to the question. It includes a specific food item and a brief explanation of why it was a favorite, which demonstrates a natural and elaborated response. To achieve a higher score, you could add a bit more detail, such as describing the taste or a specific memory associated with the food, but the current answer is already strong.

The answer is coherent and well-organized. There is a clear structure: introduction, main point, and supporting detail. The use of 'Well' as a discourse marker is natural. However, there is a minor self-correction ('There was actually' instead of 'It was actually') which slightly affects fluency. To achieve a 9, avoid any self-corrections and ensure smooth delivery.

The vocabulary is appropriate and precise for the topic. Phrases like 'go-to comfort food' and 'burning under the weather' (though idiomatic, the correct phrase is 'feeling under the weather') show good range. However, the misuse of 'burning' instead of 'feeling' is a lexical error. To improve, use idiomatic expressions accurately and consider adding more descriptive language.

The grammar is mostly accurate with a good range of structures, including a subordinate clause ('whenever I was...'). However, there is a grammatical error: 'There was actually my go-to' should be 'It was actually my go-to'. This is a minor error but noticeable. To achieve a 9, ensure all sentences are error-free and use a variety of complex structures naturally.
