I think some people prefer to watch movies in the cinema because they want to see movies on a huge display rather than just sitting on the sofa and watching a small monitor. The second reason is the sound. For example, if we just watch movies on TV, the sound system is not really good compared to watching in the cinema, where there are powerful sounds and audio on the right side and also on the left side. So I think that could be the reason.
