Well, I do believe that although encouraging rivalry among employees in one company can have some devastating effects on their mental health, it can boost the overall performance of the company. To elaborate on that, when there is competition between employees, everyone has the desire to be the best, so they push themselves further, work harder, strive for bigger achievements, and improve the company's performance. However, this can put pressure on many employees, so they may suffer from some mental health issues, for example. Yes, I think this is why they do this.
