Do you think that the idea of a 'global language' is still relevant, or has the internet made linguistic diversity more important than ever?

In my point of view, I think global language is also relevant but the internet has kind of like the it has made the diversity of the languages more specific to all of the people in the world. So I think internet has a big role when it comes to the linguistic diversity.
