In your opinion, what are the key factors that contribute to successful community-based initiatives?

In my opinion, the key factors would be making these initiatives as accessible as possible, making them the least expensive to pursue. Another factor would probably be making it like an actual compulsory part of being in a community because I feel like this is something that makes a great community with people working together.
