What are some potential drawbacks of focusing solely on economic growth as a measure of societal progress?

I think this idea has a lot of drawbacks because just being a part of economical growth, if you’re not the person who needs to follow these things, it’s not very appropriate to measure society progress because it may have negative effect, which also will be not very good for a good person’s life.
