The two maps demonstrate what changes will be made to a university’s sports centre. Overall, the layout of the sports complex will be experienced a major transformation, with the introduction of new facilities, offering greater variety to visitors. Notably, outdoor courts( one is located in the west, the other in the east) will be replaced by a leisure pool and sports hall, respectively, with some entertaining aminities- sports shop, a cafe and dance studio rooms.
In the current design, sports centre is relatively simple. Visitors entering the complex could see a reception in front of them , which adjacent to 25m pool. Pool is located at the center of the complex between a changing room and a seating area, while a gym is positioned behind of it. While one outdoor court is located in the western section, the other can be found on the eastern side, creating a balanced layout.
In terms of future plans, the complex will change considerably after redevelopment, and more emphasis will be placed on indoor sports and leisure facilities. Although the central block, which includes the 25m pool, seating area and reception will retain their current positions, the gym is expected to be twice as large as it is now. Two outdoor courts will be replaced by the leisure pool and the sports hall, respectively. In the south-western side, more precisely, at the bottom of the leisure pool, the new changing room and sports shop will take over the empty space, likewise, the cafe and the additional changing room will be built opposite of them at the bottom of sports hall. Surprisingly, to support recreational and cultural activities, two side-by-side dancing studio will be constructed in the north-eastern side.
