The diagram shows the levels of donation contributions by British people from different ages in two different years, 1990 and 2010.
Overal, more British people gave money to charity in 1990 than in 2010 except for the people who were over 50 years old.
In 1990, above 40% British people aged of 36 to 50 donated to charity, and this figure is the highest on the chart. In contrast, British people aged from 18 to 25 contributed at least only around 17%. After two decades, both these precentages was declined significantly, respectively 35% and around 7%. The level of donations from the 26-35 age group also experienced a decrease in 2010 from 31% to 24%
Turning to 2010, participation in donations from people aged under 50 years decreased and participation in donations from people aged over 50 years increased. The chart shows that in the 51-65 year age group from 35% to almost 40%, which was the highest percentage in 2010. In addition, in the 65s year age group, there was also an increase from around 32% to 35%.
