Band 6+: Chorleywood is a village near London whose population has increased steadily since the middle of the nineteenth century. The map below shows the development of the village.

I am glad to present my presentation about the development of a village called Chorleywood. If there are no objections, I will go ahead and get started.

First of all, I would like to provide you with some information about Chorleywood for better understanding. This is a small countryside village located near the capital of England. I chose this location because its population steadily increased in the mid-nineteenth century, which led to significant infrastructure development.

As you can see on the map, Chorleywood has only two main roads and a motorway, which was built in 1970 following the population boom. There is also a railway that has been operational since 1909, allowing locals to travel by train.

Now, if we shift our focus from transportation to the buildings, we can observe that while we cannot categorize their types easily, many of them are relatively new. Most residents have lived in these newer homes since 1970, with significant development occurring up to 1994. This marks the period of countryside development in the area. In contrast, there are older houses near the road and railway crossing that date back to 1883.

After analyzing everything, I can conclude that, like in many cities, the newer buildings tend to dominate the landscape, and it is quite rare to find authentic old structures.
