The pie charts provide data on time allocation of adults to different activities in a particular country in 1958 and 2008. Overall, the percentage of time spent on activities experienced ups and downs, with people allocating most of their time on working and sleeping in both years.
In 1958, the largest proportion of time was spent on working and sleeping, accounting for 33% and 32% respectively. Another activity in which people allocated more time was going out with friends/family, at 19%. Remaining time was devoted to other three activities including relaxing at home, other interests or playing sports, and travel to work, each showing under 10%.
By 2008, the proportion of time allocation for all activities saw a big change. Working was the activity which witnessed a huge alteration, rising to 42%. As a result of this, time spent on sleeping and socializing with family/friends declined significantly to 25% and 6%.
