The bar chart gives information about the percentage of people in the UK who eat the recommended daily of consumption of vegetables and fruits from 2002 to 2010. Overall, the share of all categories of individuals experienced an increase in daily intake of fruits and vegetables during the period in question. Furthermore, the proportion of females consumed the highest percentage of fruits and vegetables during the entire period.
Men and women showed the same increase between 2002 and 2010. Starting at 25% in 2002, females consumption rose noticeably to 32% in 2006 and decreased significantly by 5% in 2010. As for males percentage, they ate 22% of daily intake in 2002 and then the figure showed a substantial growth to 28% in 2006, after which men’s consumption fell significantly to 24%
In terms of children shares, daily intake of food and vegetables rose slightly more than their counterparts. In 2002, 11% of foods and vegetables was consumed by teenagers. Then the figure increased substantially to
16% in 2006. In the final year, the percentage of consumption was 14%, which is slightly less than the number for 2006.
