The given illustration demonstrates the evolution of the village of Ryemouth over a span of 29 years, from 1995 to these days. As we can see, there are some noticeable alterations, including the farmland and forest park in the northeast, which have been transformed into sports facilities. While in the southwest, there was significant increase in the number of houses, accommodations and restaurants.
In 1995, the north-east of village used to have a massive area for farming and woodlands. There were 2 main road that ran from north-west to south-east and south-west to south-east, with houses on both side of the northwestern road. On the end of the southeastern route, a hotel and café were built opposite each other. While the numberous of shops and the fish market were located at the start of the road.
Subquently, 3 decades have passed, the most visible modification is the appearance of the sports facilities where used to be farmland and forest park. The fishing port has been destructed while the fish market and shops have been converted to restaurants and apartments. On the west side of the village, 4 houses have been added to the majority of homes. Moreover, the hotel and the café have withstood the test of time and a car park has been built beside the hotel.
