The map illustrates the development of the town of Ryemouth from 1995 to the present. There are a few changes, the most noticeable change is the number of accommodations increased. Also, we can see that the places related to the first industry, such as farmland and fishing port.
In 1995, the sea located in the southern part of the village was utilized for fishing, with a fishing port and fish markets right above the port. Next to the markets, there was a small café. On the other side of the southern road, there were many shops and a hotel. In the Northern part, there is a road crossing the village from west to east. On the west side of the road, there is a housing area, with the road surrounding four houses. On the one hand, there is farmland and a forest park on the right side of the village.
In the present map, a few more houses are added to the housing area, with a new road connecting the two new houses near the square-shaped road surrounding the four houses. Also, apartments were built on the seaside, replacing the markets. The buildings that used to be shops are now used as restaurants and the hotel built a car park. The café located across the street stayed the same although there were massive changes, including the elimination of the fishing port. On the east side of the village, the place used as farmland and forest park now serves as sports facilities, a golf field and tennis courts.
