The line graph illustrates the rate of four distinct types of materials reused between 1982 and 2010 in a country.
Overall, the recycling of paper and cardboard fluctuated throughout the years along with glass containers. However, Aluminium cars showed a steady growth, while plastics were recycled moderately. Despite this, the rate of recycling of paper and cardboard was highest among the others.
Paper and cardboard recycling was the lowest at nearly 60%, but steadily increased to around 80% in 1900, before decreasing linearly, to a 70% in 2010, same as in 1986. In 1990 glass containers showed a similar pattern as paper and cardboard by decreasing to 40% however, increasing linearly to almost 60% by 2010. However, this may not be the case with aluminium cars, as the recycling pattern differs, with the lowest to almost a 0 in 1986, aluminium cars rose significantly throughout the years to near a 50% in 2010. This shows a dramatic increase in the reuse of aluminum cars. In addition to that, the recycling of plastics has not really shown a dramatic increase or decrease, the pattern is moderate through the years, with almost a 0% in 1990 to just below a 10% in 2010.
