The bar graph illustrates the proportion of men, women, and children in the UK who consumed five portions of fruits and vegetables each day between 2001 and 2008.
Overall, it can be apparently seen that women always ate more than men and children. It also worth mentioning that the fruits and vegetables in the first year were the least consumed by all groups, while the reverse was true for 2006, with the exception of children.
In the first four years, the figure for women was gradually increasing from approximately 22 percent to 27, while the number of men and children remained unchanged in the first three years, at 18 and 13 respectively. However, by 2004, both saw an increase, with men rising by 3 percentage and children by 5, bringing the figure for the children to the same level as men in 2001.
In the last 4 years, there was a significant rise in the figures for all groups. Both men and women reached their peak of 31 and 35, respectively, in 2006, while for children highest figure was observed in 2007 with 28 percent. In the last year there was a sligt decrease in all groups.
