The charts illustrates the changes of land use pattterns of Australian and non- Australian citizens related to citicies, towns and rural areas, during the period 1995 and 2010.
In year 1995, the no. of persons born outside Australia is higher than the people born in Australia. The Australians prefering cities for living is around 50 percent, while the non-Australians prefer cities around 60%. However, The highest perecntage of Australians have lived in cities, while least lived in town areas. Similarly, the people of other countries have mostly lived in cities, while least in towns.
By 2010, the use of rural areas by Australians have reduced from 30% to nearly over 15%, due to people choosing cities over villages. In Asutralia. the propotion of land use in town and rural reas is almost same. The 80% of nationalities of other countries have chosen cities over other land types which shows the popularlity of suburbs has decreased drastically from 40% to near 5% over the 15 year time frame.
