The chart above illustrates the populations of seals, whales, and dolphins registered in the Gormez Straits between 2006 and 2018.

Firstly, the overall bar chart shows an upward trend, but with very different local changes. For instance, the number of dolphins is increasing at an almost constant rate while the population of whales tends to remain mainly steady. The most surprising data is for the number of seals, which has a large drop from 2006 to 2010 and then, as the dolphin population, it seems to grow at a constant speed.

Although the seal population was more than double the dolphin population, in the most recent year the number of the former has surpassed the latter. This fact can be summarized by two factors: the large drop in the seal population and the bigger growth rate of the number of dolphins. On the other hand, the amount of whales fluctuates, becoming the smallest population among the three shown.

In conclusion, dolphins showed steady growth, seals experienced a sharp decline followed by recovery, and whales fluctuated slightly, making them the smallest group. Overall, the total population increased over time.
