This graph illustrates the number of employed people in Australia in the previous year, and it is broken down by types of jobs and sex. Overall, it is evident that in most cases there is a disproportion in how many people are hired, with men conquering most workplaces..
Strikingly, there is a very large range in the amount of women employed in different job types. While production and tradespeople only have a hundred thousand women employed, clerical women have almost a million employed. Furthermore, this last case has the largest amount of people of any gender working. Along with professionals, they are the only two jobs with fewer men hired.
The largest gender gap is present in tradespeople, with more than eight hundred thousand more men being employed. In contrast, there is a difference of only fifty thousand, the slightest one, in the amount of professionals in the workforce. This case shows the slightest difference between all the job types displayed.
