The bar chart and pie chart illustrate different evening courses attended by men and women, and the age distribution of these participants at an adult education centre in 2009.
Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that women attended more courses than men in most subjects, especially in Language. Conversely, Sculpture had the lowest number of students. Additionally, the majority of participants were aged 50 or over, while only a small portion were under 20.
In 2009, the number of women attending the Language course topped the list at 40 people, which was exactly double the figure for men at 20. Painting also attracted more women (30) than men (25), followed by Drama with 20 female and 10 male participants. Sculpture had the fewest learners, with just 10 men and 5 women.
According to the pie chart, people aged 50 or over made up the largest proportion of attendees, accounting for 42% of the total. This was followed by the 40–49 age group at 26%. Meanwhile, those aged 30–39 and 20–29 represented 16% and 11%, respectively. The youngest group, those under 20, constituted only 5%.
