This figure illustrated the proportion of men and women participating in different evening classes in an adult education facilities in 2009. Overall, the number of women enrolling in each class, except sculpture, is greater than men and almost half of the participants were aged over 50 years old.
For each of the four courses offered in the learning centre, drama, painting and language are taken by more than 20 women. In contrast, less than 10 women signed up for the sculpture class. Meanwhile, for men, courses in painting and language, have the highest participation rate, with almost twenty men attending.
In terms of age, around 68% of the participants were aged 40 and over while the rest made up around 30% of total attendants. A quarter of which are people in their 20s and 30s. And only 5% of the total participants were aged under 20 years old.
