Overall, the highest percentage of Australian men doing physical activity was from 15 to 24 years old, while that of women was from 45 to 54 and 55 to 64 years old in 2010. Additionally, women did physical activity more than men, as all the cited age groups were higher than men, with the exception of 15 to 24 years old.
Looking at the chart in more detail, 52% of women aged from 35 to 44 exercised regularly, while the figure for men was 40%. In addition, females from 45 to 54 and 55 to 64 years old shared the same proportion, at 53%, which was both around 9% higher than the figures for the same age group of males.
Regarding the remaining age groups, the percentage of Australian men from 15 to 24 years old exercising regularly was 53%, which was 5% higher than that of women. In terms of 25 to 34, women did regular exercise more than men, with the figures standing at 49% and 42% respectively, Finally, the similar proportion were seen in the oldest age for both genders, at 47%.
