The bar chart gives information about the proportion of Australian females and males who did exercise regularly in six age groups in 2010.
Overall, the highest percentage of women doing regular physical activity were 45 to 65 and 55 to 64 years old,while that of men was 15 to 24 years old. In addition,females who were aged from 25 to 64 spent more time exercising compared to men of the same age.
Looking at the chart in more detail, the 15 to 24 men age group accounted for 53%, while that of women was 48%. In addition, there was an equal percentage in two groups of women aged from 45 to 54 and 55 to 64, standing at 53%,which were both higher than that of men in the corresponding categories, at 10% and 8% respectively.
Regarding the remaining groups, the lowest percentage of Australian men was 35 to 44 years old , at 40%, while the figure for the opposite sex was 52%. Furthermore, 49% of 25 to 34 ‘s females exercised regularly compared to the males’s 42%. Additionally, the percentage of women aged 65 to over was similar to that of men, at 47%.
