Overall, it can be seen that the number of people witnessed an upward trend during the period. Furthermore, the 55-64 group had the highest percentage of people living alone.
Looking into more details, there were only 3 three age groups including 37-46, 47-54 and 55-64 that appeared in 1850 which accounted for under 3%. In the next 50 years, the 27-36 group showed up, registering around 2% and all age groups increased slightly, from around 2% to under 4%, respectively.
Moving to the figures in 1950, the youngest group came into view, accounting for nearly 2%. Furthermore, the proportion of the oldest groups witnessed a dramatic upsurge to approximately 9%, however, the other groups still remained stable. In 2000, all figures saw a significant increase. The percentage of the youngest group was increased from 2% to 5%. In addition, the proportion of others age groups was doubled, which grown to 4%-5% in 27-36 and 37-46 groups, and raised to 8%-9% in 47-54 and 55-64 groups.
