Starting at a similar rate with the 37-46s group around 2,1% in 1900, the 27-36s cohort increased slightly to reach nearly 3% in 1950 before it underwent a significant increase to reach 8% in 2000. Beginning at a lower level, the 17-26 age group occupied below 2% in 1950, rising steadily to reach around 5% by the end of this period.
It only had around 3% people aged 55-64 lived alone in the USA in 1850, this figure for 55-64s group rose rapidly to reach nearly 10% in 1950, after that, it witnessed an increase considerably to reach around 17% in 2000, this is the highest percentage through the entire period. The people aged 47-54 had a similar trend with 37-46, occupying below 3% in the first year, and fluctuating around this number before it increased dramatically and reached around 13% in 2000, becoming the second highest after the 55-64s group.
