Overall, the average Primary and lower secondary school pupils per class in South Korea, and Japan are the only ones higher compared with the world average, with UK and Mexico were higher only in primary and lower secondary schools respectively.
The average size for class in primary school was largest in South Korea, at just under 35 students, while Japan and UK being similar in numbers, at around 30 and 26 respectively. All of this are above the world average, which is at 25 students per class. However, bellow this includes classes in Mexico, Denmark, and Iceland, which were lower than the world average, at less than 30 for all of them.
Lower secondary schools’ average class size in the world was smaller compared with those in primary school, at just under 30 students per room. In South Korea, Japan, and Mexico the average number were all above 30, while those located in Denmark and Iceland were close to each other at around 20 pupils. The least was in UK, at only under 20 students.
