Overall, it is clear that China had the largest proportion of population from 1950 to 2002, but in 2050, India is predicted to account for the largest proportion. Moreover, apart from India, the other nations witnessed an downward trend over the given time frame
At the beginning of the period, China took the lead, at around 23%, followed by India with 15%. Over the following 52 years, the percentage of people living in China decreased to 20%, and then it is forecasted to registering a plunge to 15% by 2050. By contrast, popualtion in India grew by 2% before being projected to increase to about 19%, surpassing the figure for China in 2050.
Regarding the USA, the proportion of its inhabitants saw a decline of 2% from 1950 to 2002 and it is projected to remain unchanged after 48 years. Japan was the country with the lowest population throughout the period, falling by 2% in the first two surveyed years. By 2050, it is forecasted to witness a plummet to approximately 1%, maintaining its last position.
