The pie chart gives information about the main causes of land degradation around the world, while table shows the impact these have had in three different regions. Overall, although the land degradation around the world is affected by three main causes, different regions are not equally affected by these. Notably, land degradation is mainly connected with human activity.
According to the pie chart, although there are other reasons which lead to a land degradation, it’s the logging to pose the greatest threat at 35%. However, as farming of crops and animals responsible for 28% and 30% respectively, it’s clear that agriculture causes more than half of all problems.
Looking at the table, region two experiences the greatest land problems, with 23% of its land degraded. Notably, it is affected by all three causes, and has the highest figure of three regions for both logging (9.8%) and growing crops (7.7%). Although region 2 is unaffected by crop farming, the vast majority of its land is degraded by farming animals at 11.3%. Interestingly, region 1 has lowest proportion of degraded land and has the lowest percentage of all categories, however, growing crops is responsible for more than half of its land issues with 3.3%.
