overall, the large portion of spending was of food in 1968,whereas the least expenses was used for fuel and power. Likewise, the expenses for leisure was higher in 2018 and the lowest was of fuel and personal goods.
In 1968,the spending for food was 35% and fuel and power was just above 5%. As shown in the figure , families in late 1960’s used their 10% of weekly income in both housing and clothing. 8% of the weekly income was spent for transportation,household and personal goods in 1968. The remaining 9% of the expense was spent for some leisure time.
In the year 2018, families loved spending their 22% of weekly income for leisure days. The measurement of weekly income for food and housing were above 15%. The spending for transportation is near 15% of their income. The measurement for fuel and power and personal goods were spent equally by 4%. For the household items the total spending was above 5%, whereas 5% was spent on foot ware and clothing.
