Overall, the proportion of urban population increased in all four regions at the beginning of the period and it is expected to rise steadly in the future.It is clear that the Latin America had the largest population throughout the period,while Africa and Asia remained the least urbanised regions.
In 1950,around 30% of the worlds population live in the cities.This figure increased approximately to 48% in 2000 and it is predicted to reach to 60% by 2030.Africa rose from about 11% in 1950 to nearly 38% in 2000 and it is forecast to reach just over 50% in 2030.Likewise,Asia boosted from about 12% to 38% in 2030, before expected to rise just under 60%,
