Overall, most children in the UK choose to go to school by walking for a shorter journey and for long journeys they prefer to use a bus.
First of all, there are 90 percent of journeys with up to 1 mile, around 60% of journeys with 1-2 mile, and just over 20% of journesy with 2-5 mile are by walk. Secondly, there are just under 70% of trips with more that 5 mile, 50% of trips with 2-5 mile, 10% of trips with 1-2 mile, and near zero percent of trips with up to 1 mile are by bus. There are also children who travel to school by car but the percentage are below 30%. Only children who have trips with 2 to 5 mile by car with the percentage just over 30%.
