The line chart demonstrates changes in the plan of monthly expense of four distinct mobile phone suppliers – Domo, Lex, Sim TX, and Alpha – in a nation in Europe during the first three quarters of 2012, in euros.
Overall, almost all providers witnessed a considerable increase in their monthly cost, with the exception of Sim TX, which was the only one to finish below its starting point. Another notable feature is that there was a striking rise in the cost of Alpha, making it surpass that of Domo in the end to become the most expensive.
Domo was the dearest contract for most of the period. It started at 15 euros at the beginning of the year 2012 before increasing considerably to 25 euros within the next seven months, except for a dip in April. However, it eased back to around 23 euros by September, when its first rank was taken by Alpha. Initially, Alpha was the cheapest contract with a starting cost at only 5 euros. Having remained stable at that level in the first month, it grew slightly to approximately 7 euros in the next two months just to fall back to its starting point in June. Notably, Alpha’s contract cost skyrocketed within the last four months in the given period, overtaking Domo as the most expensive contract and ending up at 25 euros, which was five times as high as its figure in the beginning.
Regarding Lex and Sim TX, they experienced a quite similar pattern during the first half of 2012 with their figures declining marginally in the first month and growing gradually by 4 euros each until May, when Lex’s cost dipped, but that of Sim TX continued to climb and even exceeded Lex’s monthly expenditure in June. Nevertheless, the two providers saw a contrast trend in the remaining of the examined period. While Lex bounced back and witnessed a quite significant growth from about 12 euros to roughly 18 euros until the end, Sim TX plunged from almost 15 euros in June to only 7 euros in September, which was even lower that its initial level.
