The given charts showcase the proportion of sales of a book store, categorised by five different genres in 1972, 1992 and 2012.
In general, the sales of each genres in 1972 and 1992 share identical statistics with no noticeable figure. Notably, in 2012, the percentages of adult fiction outnumbered others faction, claiming the leading position.
First of all, in 1972, other genres have the highest sales with a quarter, followed by adult fiction, children’s fiction and biography at 20 percent. The last 15 percent of the sales went to travel genre. After that, in 1992, there are small changes in all five factions, with each either go up or down in a 5-percent range.
However, in the third chart, adult fiction witnessed a significant rise in sales, taken nearly a half of the overall sales. The second place belonged to children’s fiction at 25 percent, a 3 percent increase compared to 1992. The remaining sales percentages were occupied by others, travel and biography at 12 percent, 10 percent and 8 percent respectively.
