Overall, large amount of electricity is generated through non renewable energy and renewable also have an noticeable production of electricity
In case of non-renewable energy source the majority of electricity is produced by coal then followed by natural gas,nuclear and petroleum. Coal generated 1756 billion kilowat per hour while it dropped to 966 billion kilowatt in 2019.likewise petroleum produced 57 billon then declined to 40 billon .
One of the major growth experienced in natural gas it generated 921 billion in 2009 and increase dramatically to 1582 billon in 2019 highest at that time .We can also see n negligible growth in nuclear it generated 10 billion kilowatt extra in 2019 .
On other hand the renewable energy used to produce a significant amount of electricity in that wind has experienced an dramatic growth from 94 billion in 2009 to 300 in 2019 becoming top electricity production in renewable energy,followed by hydroelectric which has same amount of electricity generation in 2009 and 2019 and we can see a increase in solar also as it went firm 1 billion at 2009 to 73 in 2019 showing it’s potential and we can also see a small increase in electricity production in geothermal and plat/animal matter.
