This report will describe a bar chart showing the global worldwide sales of different categories of digital games over the period from 2000 to 2006.
Overall, sales were best in 2006, however some games have decreased slightly, especially console games, whereas other games have increased slightly.
In 2000, sales were based on just two games, is console game and handheld games. Handheld games earned about 11 billion dollars, whereas around 6 billion dollars for console games. After that, handheld games continued to rise and reached nearly 18 billion dollars in 2006. However, console game was down slightly to about 3 billion dollars.
Mobil phone and online games started later, in 2002 and 2001. Both types grew every year. In 2006, online games reached around 9 billion dollars, while mobile games made about 7 billion.
To sun up, handheld games stayed the most popular, but online and mobile games became much more common by the end of the period.
