The chart gives information about the distribution of student accommodation among undergraduates and graduates at a US university in the year 2013. It is evident that a university dormitory was the main choice of undergraduate students. In contrast, graduate students tended to pick a shared apartment.
In terms of undergraduate accommodation, it is shown that most of the students lived in university dormitories and shared apartment, with a total of over 8000 individuals. The least popular type of accommodation were living in their own houses and married student housing, which were both fewer than 500 people. Looking at the graduate students, most of them chose to live in shared apartments and shared houses, which was nearly 1200 and 800 pupils respectively. However, the least popular were university dormitories, where no graduate students lived, and living with their parents.
Similarly, both undergraduate and graduate students preferred shared apartment. While university dormitories were the mainstream housing for undergraduates, no graduate students resided there. In addition, it is interesting to note that the number of graduates living in married student housing was approximately five times more than that of undergraduates.
