The bar chart illustrates illiteracy level of citizens in the various parts of world, and gender of the people in 2000 year.

Overall, it is evident that a developed countries had the lowest illiteracy level, and the highest one was in the South Asia. In addition, the female’s rate were dominant throughout the period in all countries.

In 2000, developed countries accounted as the lowest section approximately less than 5%, for both genders. In the Latin America and Caribbian islands the percentage number for males and females were relatively same, around 10%. Additionally, in the East Asia and Ocenia men and women accounted for 9% and 20% respectively.

On the other hand, rate for the Africa and the other parts of Asia was much higher than the other parts. The difference between genders were more than 20% for the each section, the rate of the males were approximately the same accounted for 30%, and it’s fluctuated throughout the period.
