The chart illustrates the number of male and female who were studying full-time and part-time in advanced education from the year 1970 to 1991.
Overall, even though, the number of men who were taking part in part-time eductaion decreased through out three periods, that of women saw a steady rise. The amount of both men and women studying full-time increase gradually during these years.
In 1970/71 period, about a thousand men were working while studying and only about one-tenth of that were doing full-time education and it gradually reach to around 200 and 250 in 1980/81 and 1990/91 respectively .In 1980/81, less male of part-time education could be seen compared to pervious year before rising back up to around 900 in 1990/91.
On the other hand, around 700 females were doing part-time study and very little of them were studying full-time. Both of these women groups go up to over a thousand and about 300 respectively in 1990/91.
