The given bar graph illustrates the proportion of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales from 1918 to 2011.
Overall, it can be seen that the owned households moves towards the upward trend whereas there is a same fluctuations in 1971 of two households.
Initially, in 1918, the rented accommodation has highest proportion above the 70 percent, while it goes slowly downward with the same percentage in 1939 and 1953 respectively.
